One Day In Summer Poem by Isabella Rose

One Day In Summer

A sense of nostalgia is creeping slowly into my veins
Overwhelming me later erupting the long forgotten pain
The memory I tried to be rid of year after year
Continues to linger around the door to my brain
Unfolding hidden secrets that have been kept away from the other's ear
Causing me to run as far as the sun
Escaping the inevitable truth that keeps us all from being together
Eternity makes it sound promisingly long like forever
Where it'll be kept save from all for the greater good
Whatever that's left is only for the trusted hood
And now as I lay in a deep peaceful slumber
I know I still wonder what happened that one day in summer...
