One Day Poem by Erwick Brandon

One Day

My eyes are heavy.
My moods are swinging.
The only thing that keeps me sane
is thinking of your face.
I wish I could talk to you too.
Nothing is the same without you.
It seems like no one here is winning.
The room won't stop spinning.
I wish I could just go back to the beginning and do things differently.
I feel like I'm losing control.
This mess is taking it's toll.
My heart continues to ache, continues to break.
The pain is unlike anything I've ever felt before.
It's like surgery with no anesthesia.
Like waking up with amnesia
And having no memory of you.
That kind of pain is is excruciating.
But a pain that I will gladly bear.
I know it's only temporary.
One day...one day you will be with me.
One day we will be happy.
One day you will be my wife.
That'll be the happiest day of my life.
