One Another Poem by Michael S...

One Another

Maybe you have not the scheme
The gentle rhyme of the artist's dream
And sorry, i'm unable to sooth you
But I swear that I've been here before
I've seen this place right to it's core
And i'm terrified of what may come
And in that silent forest of dreams
Perhaps there's someone who'll hear our screams
But untill then, I'll be my best for you
But if the structure comes crumbling down
Prepare to cast your mighty frown
For the larks cry dread late into the night

So if sequins of terrible shame
Prepare your eyes to cast their blame
Head forth down that sodden path
For that path diverges in the wood
Makes you do things you think you should
And that dreadful discourse sings out everytime
So please sing that song by itself
Three times out loud, and two yourself
And let that symphony ease your mind
Then hopefully you'll be aware of me
And not of all the irony
For our course is set by the wind, my dear

The cold and broken night time shift
Brings not with it a hopeful lift
And tears run unchecked from the moon
I can't explain disdain, distaste
I don't know why you hide your face
I just know that those shards must fit together
Perhaps there is something there
Something of which i'm not aware
But of course it's hidden so far away
The flood seeps forth heedlessly
Till all we built is under sea
And the horizon rains sorrow forever more

The cities burn at a torrid rate
A million souls will meet their fate
And we just to wait to be saved
So listen hard to the chorus of night
And pray to God it will conceal your fright
So you will avoid welcoming black mercy
The bitter trill of chanting song
Has left me lonely for so long
So I wish for your calm rhythym to sooth me
I wish optimism would cure all
I wish it'd cath us when we fall
But all we have is one another
