Once Upon A Time Poem by tawanda omphile plaatjie

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time I met a boy,
I thought he was the most irritating thing breathing,
The way he made fun of everything I said or did,
I wanted to wipe him off the face of the earth.
In my own company I couldn`t stop thinking about him,
His big eyes and the crooked teeth that made him smile funny.
My first crush!

Once upon a time I met a boy,
The perfect height, perfect laugh, perfect accent,
The perfect fit,
Or so I thought,
Turns out he was lizzy`s perfect fit, Amy’s too.
My first jerk boyfriend!

Once upon a time I met a boy,
He was just like jerk,
Even smelled and sounded like jerk,
They are all just like jerk I tell you.
So I made sure he knew I wasn`t perfect fit number 13,
Beat him to the speech, u know the speech:
'Its not you it’s me'.
Yep very wise, NOT! !
The poor soul paid for jerk`s sins.
My first blunder!

Once upon a time I met a boy,
He warmed me up,
Tangled my insides into knots,
Butterflies no doctor could explain,
Summersaults,
He made me laugh and tore down the walls that came up when jerk left,
He was nothing like jerk.
He was the boy that knew the words to my favorite song,
A song I wish we could sing together one more time,
Before they close his coffin,
My true love!
