Once Upon A Rose (Revised) Poem by Heather Burns

Once Upon A Rose (Revised)

Once upon a time a
trellis was erected
for a delicate flower
to cling to

as she grew opening
her petals becoming
a lovely lady

she was admired looked
upon for her beauty

one day a stranger
decided to transplant
her into his garden

her petals were picked

one by one they fell
to the ground
coming ever near to
her heart

saddened she began
crying being exposed
to the outside world

finally the plan for
her return home was
complete

hurt and angry once
again she clung to
her trellis

today her petals
remain closed
refusing to open

once upon a rose.

Lovely lovely lovely. Those who hurt don't feel the pain But who are hurt know only feel the pain. A scar. I need to learn here. Mohabeer Beeharry
