Once In A Dream Poem by Anthony Burkett

Once In A Dream

Rating: 5.0

We met in evening's gray twilight,
our bodies clasped in sweet delight,
to share the shawl of sultry warmth
as lovers often do.

A sweet aroma desire filled air,
two hearts have joined as one to share,
spiced notes of cinnamon and laughter
have scented our candle lit world.

Our destination well in sight,
with beating hearts and firework’s light,
red wine to quench our thirst
from feasting heart and soul.

Delicious dinner, now desert,
another helping could not hurt,
soufflé with peaks and grand mariner
a well fit cap on our evening spent.

Let me not wake in too much haste,
to bask awhile with a lingering taste,
of longing hearts arriving home
together with you and love.
