Once Poem by Alyce Mary Abernethy

Once

Rating: 5.0

I once lost love and pined;
As if life itself was lost.
Discord, discard
Happiness forlorn
Grey and gloom and shade.
Hands dug deep and shoulders hunched
A brittle winter set.
Hands dug deep.

And yet one dawn a glimmer crept,
Unspoken
Slow but sure
Steady but true
And wove itself
Between me and you

Beautiful love poem, nicely penned in good diction with conviction. Lovely depiction of heartbreak, followed by the setting in of another bliss of love. I like the beauty of your articulation. Thanks for sharing Alyce.
