On Your Altar Poem by Jason Pack

On Your Altar

Are you scared?
Are you afraid?
Fear is shared,
An even trade.

Fear is not,
A choice you make,
Courage not,
A risk you take.

Falling's not,
The end of you,
If you'll rise,
What'll it do?

Do not settle,
For even first,
From your mettle,
Greatness bursts.

Goals are fuel,
In greatness' furnace,
Fame is there,
But you must earn it.

If you're down,
Not at your best,
Do not frown,
But keep your zest.

No loss is here,
Only next time,
Hit that next gear,
Make that last climb.

Do not predict,
The coming soon,
Instead invent,
By your own tune.

Bear your scars,
Upon your chest,
Give your heart,
And you'll be blessed.

Acceptance donned,
The only falter,
Have others kneel
At your altar.
