On The Run Poem by This is not me ...

On The Run

Rating: 4.8

I think it's time we made some changes,
The taste of apathy s'gone dry,

The clouds are still blowing asunder,
The river valley s'growing wild,

I think it's time we taught our children,
Something more than just our past,

Tectonic plates are shuffling further
And pandemonium s'on the rise

I sure wish I could see december,
Without money on my mind,

And I want to tell you that i love you,
But that word comes from a gun;

***
I think it's time we played some music,
If you'd rather we can dance,

The sun is falling in the distance,
But my day is far from done,

I think it's time we stopped complaining,
If we're not putting up a fight,

There's days I don't know what I'm doing,
I'm all too human all the time,

There's folks that tell me that they're crazy,
But crazy is'only in your mind;

***
So I don't care for making money,
Just as long as I'm on the run,
Take my cart, my horse, my money
But don't leave me feeling numb
