On The Loss Of A Loved One Poem by Sacha Hayes O'Grady

On The Loss Of A Loved One

Mere words alone cannot express
The hurt which in me I do feel,
For now I am companionless,
A soul which Nature thought to steal

Away from me, you thief of life!
Who has no caring attitude
Toward us mortals, nor the strife
We strive beyond our latitude.

And so I must bid Thee farewell,
While every constellation cries,
A million suns do burn and swell,
And through eternity shall rise.
