On The Ball Of Romance Poem by Ima Ryma

On The Ball Of Romance

The boy was at a baseball game.
A girl behind did catch his eye.
A foul ball struck did take its aim.
The boy did catch it on the fly.
Now here is where the boy did play
A game of romance on his own.
He'd brought an old baseball that day.
To himself only was that known.
And so he turned with a big smile,
And handed to the girl the ball.
She was so charmed by his beguile,
Gave her number for him to call.

He gave the girl a ball decoy,
And kept the real catch - atta boy!
