On Sensitivity Poem by Greg Crowell

On Sensitivity

Rating: 4.8

Stoicism is often revered
Is this a 'Who's been through more f***ed up s**t? ' contest
Or who's most dead inside?

There is no living
If you can no longer feel

Going through the motions
Does not mean you're alive

When I open my mind
When I open my body
When I open my heart
When I open my soul

To something
Anything
I am alive

Desensitize from pain and
Lose your pleasure
Desensitize from violent acts and
Lose your sanity
Desensitize from loneliness and
Lose those who have been close
Desensitize from disrespect and
Lose all esteem

Take the good with the bad
Or don't take anything at all

I like this as much as anything I've ever done. Wish I could say I wrote this, but since you're my son I guess I can claim some level of contribution.

I like the ending, it is very true. Amazing writing.
