On Receiving An Invite To Mckelveys Poem by Francis Duggan

On Receiving An Invite To Mckelveys

My mum is dying to meet you that's what young Sean did say
So do come to McKeleveys for dinner Christmas Day
An Irish Aussie party so come and meet the clan
And you know there will be welcome for you an Irishman.

My mum is dying to meet you she think your verse is great
So do call to McKelveys you must make it a date
You must come to our party there's lots of drink and food
And there's laughter at McKelveys when we're in party mood.

And Billy Seanie's father said we won't be short on beer
For christmas Day is special it comes but once a year
And if you don't come Christmas then you call anytime
There's welcome at McKelveys for any friend of mine.

'Yes' there's welcome at McKelveys for man from Clara hill
And we'll be glad to see you, you know too well we will
And you can stay a forthnight if so you wish to stay
There's welcome at McKelveys we'll not turn you away.

You must call to McKelveys the invite so sincere
And there's welcome at McKelveys those words so sweet to hear
And to not to thank McKelveys for the invite would be rude
So to them I pen these verses for to show my gratitude.
