On Behalf Of Barbies Poem by Kazi Maisha

On Behalf Of Barbies

Rating: 4.5

Do I look like some toy to play with?
A random toy with no feelings?
Just because I have power
To stand up, smile, and let the despised cower
Does it mean I'm thick-skinned?

Seeming perfect
Have you ever thought about me being full of flaws?
I act like a doll, like a Barbie, now
But that's just so I don't have to show my flaws and bow
Does it mean I can't get hurt?

Just because I'm okay or at least I seem okay
Doesn't mean I am
I smile and laugh-hiding all imperfections
But there are those that lead me to the wrong directions
Just because I seem okay-is it fine to hurt me?

Even though I may seem flawless, I do get hurt
I am not a perfect doll-Barbie-but a regular human

well-constructed, with enough repetition to get your message across well. (but) maybe if you didn't hide some of your feelings, you wouldn't get hurt, or at least not in the same ways. you might mix with a crowd (or individuals) who are more like you and with whom you can be yourself, not always on guard to pretend, and be less likely to be hurt. maybe the most important flaw is pretending to be what you aren't. there must be some qualities you have that are not flaws and which you might work to your advantage. and) maybe those who hurt you are pretending some also. maybe they are barbies or kens? [of course maybe you made up everything in the poem, and it is really not about you.] thanks for sharing. bri :)

Hello good friend Kazi. You have penned a very sad poem. I could sense the pain in the words. I enjoyed. I have a new poem titled, I'll Put Some Coffee On you might enjoy. Loyd
