On Angels' Wings Poem by Nancy Crossman

On Angels' Wings

Rating: 5.0

They arrive on angels’ wings, bringing a sense of wonder
Into a life you thought was already complete, but
All of the sudden takes on a much deeper meaning.
The embodiment of everything innocent and pure
Children quickly become your next breath,
The focus of your every thought and emotion
And you can’t remember who you were before them.
When you hold your children against your breast
Your heart sings melodies you never even heard of.
For the first time in your life, you are deeply connected
To little souls that speak volumes without a word.
Beyond reason, you feel an instinctive compulsion
To nurture, protect and cherish with every fibre of your being
These wonders of life with whom you share a bond
As enduring and everlasting as time!
