On An Eagle's Wing Poem by Ray Andrews

On An Eagle's Wing

Rating: 5.0

As I was walking along the shore
An eagle came to me
He asked me to take a ride
He said it was for free

I agreed forthwith and on his wing
Took off to see our world
I learned quite quickly our course was set
As the agenda unfurled

We flew over west coast cities
Winging and banking some
He said 'Look at all this filthy air-
do you think I'm having fun? '

I gulped at the signt of all the goop
Lingering in the air
He said 'Do you think your energy use
Is to us wild ones fair? '

I shook my head and off we went
Headed out to sea
He said 'Look at the waves, back and forth-
Energy for all of thee'

We flew to a volcano
Spewing it's ash
He said 'The heat in the land-
Is an energy cash'

Aimed toward the sun
Before we started our fall
He said 'Look at that fire-
Fuel for all'

We flew to vast cliffs
With hard blowing winds
He said 'Use the air-
To energy's ends'

He said that clean air
They needed to thrive
If we kept with our ways
We all would die

Very Original! The message is very serious, and the idea about the flight on an eagle's wing was great! ~~Elya Thorn~~
