On A Night Without You Poem by Matthew Holloway

On A Night Without You

On a night without you my love
this world appears a whole lot less
I am alone and wandering in the dark
tearful and lonely
the night is cruel and wicked
due to deny me rest, sleep, escape
for what is a life without you
my love, my life's breath
my reason for being
you are distant
away from physical touch
and yet present in my heart
in my every thought
I love you, forever a promise
your love made me
and I thank you for it
and on a night without you
I feel all the less for it
