On A Lonely Road Poem by Garba Inuwa

On A Lonely Road

I mate a damsel
carrying a load of fresh
bread i ask her
'oh girl can i help'
she gigled and say 'no sir'

yet another day
on that lonely road
i saw the same girl
carrying a load
of fresh banana
and i give her my warmest smile
and she wink at me
and just move on,

on the third day
when saw her holding the strap
of her walking dog
i know she doesnt need help
so i walk away
like a loner
on the lonely road.
