Old Man in Love

Blondes and brunettes have had their day,
I love a woman whose hair is grey;
Ageing can improve a wine
And I'm so proud that she is mine!

Ageism and sexism are a disgrace -
I love the wrinkles on her face,
Some people say she's just an old crone,
But she is mine and mine alone!

The day will come when she is dead,
My partner in our marriage bed,
Nothing could ever thrill me as much
As her arthritic fingers' touch!

Always her wit and intellect
Keep me amused and earn my respect,
At least she's not some empty fool,
A precocious nymphet fresh from school!

I will take flowers to her tomb
And when I'm dead there will be room
For me to lie down by her side,
My Venus, my enduring pride!
