Old Friendship Poem by Biswajit Ganguly

Old Friendship

Time running anticlockwise,
Faded lanes of memory revisited,
Decades old joys
Leaving a smudged mark on memory
Appeared again,
Forgotten fashion, food, culture
Became lively
As we childhood friends met again.

We parted ways for career to fight for life,
With individual styles,
We carried with us each other’s shadows,
Teenager’s first love and betrayal,
Friendly gossiping, small balloons of tears – we carried them all
To finally merge memories through hugs and kisses,
Yesterday revisited,
Time again runs clockwise.
