Old Blue Room Poem by GEN Nelson

Old Blue Room

I'm looking for a place to live
Somewhere nice and not too big
Where we can spread our wings
And fly

I hope it has a garden
Full of roses, I'll bargain
‘Fore the frost hardens
Everything

I want to find a treasure chest
Buried in a robin's nest
Full of bugs and tiny pests
My friends

I need a little fish's pond
Where frogs and crickets sing their song
How could this dream possibly go wrong?
How? ?

And in the middle of the night
Where fireflies supply my light
My god, it's such a sight
Behold!

The year round burning embers
That heat up cold December
Wishing for warm September
Again

But that's ok cause there's no room
For biting things and winter gloom
I'll spend my time in no such doom
In my old blue room
