Old Age Leaves Something To Be Desired Poem by Shalom Freedman

Old Age Leaves Something To Be Desired

Rating: 4.3

Old age leaves something to be desired
It's not just the aches and the pains
Though they can be terrible enough
It's the whole thing about being over-the-hill and useless
And without any real reason to show one's uglier kisser to the world
It's not just about being unable to hope for the things you really want in life
It's about having to get through all the depression and despair
Without broadcasting it to the few who might care about you
It's a mess in so many ways
With one's friends sick and suffering so
It's a down- down- downer

Now tell me how Wisdom is great
And how every little pleasure and movement can be more appreciated now
Wonderful
You take old age
I'll take being young again.

It's the whole thing about being over-the-hill and useless And without any real reason to show one's uglier kisser to the world It's not just about being unable to hope for the things you really want in life It's about having to get through all the depression and despair Without broadcasting it to the few who might care about you Well written, the helplessness of the old age we all ought to pass through unequally alike. Beautifully described.10 marks for it. Thanks for sharing it. Subhas
