Olcott Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Olcott

The air is sweet with fragrant smells from blossoms in the trees
As sunshine breaks through morning mist it sets a calming peace
Daytime brings a gentle breeze moving almost silent from the lake
Small glass like waves along the shore make sand designs along its break
Ducklings follow not far behind their mothers feathered tail
They leave behind smooth water lines that briefly mark their trail
Soon gulls arrive with announcing calls for their numbers to increase
To chase the fish that swim near shore to make a morning feast
Ships miles out are a common site for us who call this fishing town home
We greet all strangers who vacation here as though they were our own
The restaurants near village old time shoppes with a scenery to adore
Will give lasting thoughts of Olcott Beach in your heart forever more
