Oklahoma Greenhouse Poem by Lisa Sweet

Oklahoma Greenhouse

Pansies for March
Petunias for April
Geraniums and Roses for May and June

July wakes Caladium and Elephant Ears slow sleepy bulbs
Not a moment soon

Crepe Myrtles, Lantana, Moss Roses all summer's core
Reveal their true colors with August's warmth soar

September October call Asters and Mums
Close Summer's season and welcome again
Pansies in velvety pallets of blue

Awaken my senses; the gift, the cue
Of beauty awaiting beyond heaven's door

Be still
Look deep
Let Nature restore

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The beauty, fragrance, and depth of intricacy of flowers inspire me. I have always wanted to physically preserve their beauty, an impossible feet. Writing is the least I can do to call attention. I try to preserve them all winter in my green house,
