Oh Sweet Friend Of Mine
What a dream
I had last night
you were with me
in a far away land
but like previous nights
I had to wake up
finding myself alone
cursing my bad luck...
One step away to smell you,
one step away to touch you,
one step away to kiss you,
one step away from you...
Oh sweet friend of mine
tell me why you hurt so much?
Holding your picture agaisnt my heart,
Silencing my tears in the dark,
I fly away once again up to the sky
swimming with the stars
dreaming I am by your side

A very kind rhytm for this poem that has immediately reminded me of the 'Sixth Fugue - A Three-Part Song' by Umberto Saba. 'Not the joy, but the torment/ of love is my delight; / I hold it shut up in my breast, / I vary its image in myself'. More, the author can enjoy it also in original.
