Oh My Poem by Marian Evans

Oh My

How can we bleep a thing,
On tv or among our peers,
If we will allow - and allow we do -
The greatest insult to go free?

You may not know Him,
But he knows you;
He was the first and the first abused
His was the first pillar upon which we stood
And the first name we scoffed in vain.

Has He not given enough
To quiet the hawking of debtors?
He does not loan out love
Nor does he collect upon receipt.

So do yourself a favor;
Forget respect for me.
Acknowledge God sovereign,
Free from spoken bonds.
