Oh Liberty… Poem by kenneth william snow

Oh Liberty…

Oh Liberty, do dance with me
And shed my dreaded fear
Release my woe, vanquish my foe
Cleave me unto you dear

Oh Liberty, don’t ignore me
And hide behind vague law
Stand strong and true, assault taboo
Never threaten to withdraw

Oh Liberty, do shine on me
Sovereignty’s treasured light
Your guiding force, keep all on course
Distinguish wrong from right

Oh Liberty, do sing with me
Harmonic declarations
Chant hymns of truth to unwise youth
Inspire sincere nations

Oh Liberty, do keep me free
To witness righteous age
This time and place, replete with grace
Protect me from my rage

Oh Liberty, I stand with thee
Intent to conquer death
And rise again, with faithful men
Restored by freedom’s breath
