Oh Ireland Poem by Anthony Joseph Erangey

Oh Ireland

My island home she calls to me
No matter where I seem to roam
She waits for me so patiently
And whispers, 'Lover please come home'

We've been apart for twelve long years
And scarcely know each other’s ways
Although my heart's been drenched with tears
She brings me back to better days

When I was young and walked her land
And met her people fair and true
She used to hold me by the hand
Oh Ireland, I still love you.
