Oh For The Forte Of The Notes

from the piano of the heavens
the heavens wanted that
the heavens and the firs
the gardens were in accord.

animals preferred, certain animals,
preferred
to hold the funeral of friends and
relatives at night

chants rose, now higher, higher
wafted on the winds
higher, higher,
the funerals were there, the
cemeteries not only, the gardens
everywhere yet
all silent spots

I saw the night walk over the clouds
towards the city-gates of his own
City.

o for the forte of the notes
from the piano of the heavens
the heavens wanted that
the heavens and the firs
the gardens were in accord.

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
