Ofw's Wife Lamentation
for my wife in the Philippines
You are better off dust
by the road side
Than a wife to an OFW
in Dubai
The matrimonial pillow
the wedding bed
are cold and dumb
Longing for her husband's
caressing arm
She often recalls the dawn
as they tight the luggage
How she held back tears
as they parted
He is across miles now
from the far side of the east
Toiling hope for a better home
in the desert of full-treasured doom
When will it ever end
My wife laments and
my nostalgic feelings?
