Off The Ground Poem by Tj Murray

Off The Ground

My head starts to spin,
And my heart barely beats.
When did this all begin?
How did I sink so deep?

My eyes mist over,
And my mouth's a frown.
Now that I'm rarely sober,
I can't get off the ground.

The cloud over my head started pouring rain,
The moment you said you didn't care.
Now I feel nothing but pain,
Still smelling the scent of your hair.

Why did I let this fall so far?
How did we end up like this?
Now all that's left is an ugly scar,
From the thoughts of an unborn kiss.

I'm trying not to think of you,
And when I cry I won't make a sound.
But these are only a few of the things I'll do,
To pick myself up off the ground.
