Of War And Peace Poem by Shruti Goswami

Of War And Peace

Facts descend
Like hurricane
Scorching and panting
Breathing fire

Words dishonoured
Mocking humanity
Labels conferred
To killers, not bards.

Amidst chaos
And fading lights
Some dimwits
Celebrate life.

In dark alleys
And brothels
Throat deep chasms
Recurring orgasms
Spread like wildfire.

Dirty wards
Sweat and puss
Middle class
Swear and cuss
Give birth
Back and forth.

Re births of a different kind.
Nothing human
Everything blind
Away from the usual grind
Flickering hope
And a greasy lamp.

Breaking dawn
Amidst warring tornados
Mud and swamp.

All is quiet
Sensual delight
Stillness of death
Mornings still
See the light.
