Of Time And The River Poem by William B. Watterson

Of Time And The River

Rating: 4.5

Shaded by ancient, towering pines and oaks,
The Linville River beckons the weary soul,
As in my fancy looms a final resting place.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust?
No. Water to water, rather, O God,
Guide me gently home to the sea.
