Of This World Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Of This World

The world is not enough
All the Egyptian flowers
Every tower of vile perfume
Singers of the silk resolve
You are a seer of shadows
Country hide away
Little stores filled with art
Vanilla roses and elven maps

We journey lost in a Fellini dream
Horizon like diamond doors
Minor chords struggle
Arpeggios like a last train ride
Pique her wordless sorrow
Let go of the edge of light
Follow the dragon procession
Her bed elegant as a funeral parlor

She lies with Napoleon's garlands
Dionysus in a rage of despair
The world like a jester on a cliff
Stage before the ancient stars
I call for you
I plead! Love not the world
Heaven has no graves
Your touch is of this world
