Of Old (Feb 5th,2003) Poem by Nicholas McDonough

Of Old (Feb 5th,2003)

Before everything there is nothing
No stars, no heavens, no earth, no land
No ocean, no sea, no waves, no sand
From the cold realm of death, twelve rivers flow
Icy waters freeze the chasm slow
Bloody flames of chaos rise
fiery clouds born of Muspelheim skies
From land of fire they turn ice to mist
Out of fallen drops comes the giant's fist
Giant's death brings earth and sky
Sea of his blood if he should die
Before nothing there is everything
the stars in the heavens, the earth and it's land
The ocean, the sea, their waves that crash on the sand
Eternal life and death twist and turn
Rebirth's continual lesson to learn
