Ode To Winnie Mandela Poem by Marukgwane Moremogolo

Ode To Winnie Mandela

Winnie Mandela
what words should write
of what circumstances
yet the summer rain prophetic not
for a gratitude of a life lived
in the midst of sugarless tea
and comfortless fort
but beauty despairs not
nor chants to a life
desired, erect, conviction-ed,
driven by justice perhaps?
