~ Ode To The World

This old world is tired.
This old world is through,
And if you listen closely
You would hear it say:

All of the pains that you may have
Are nothing compared to mine.
I've lived so much longer than you have,
Through aeons and aeons of time.

I turn on my axis so patiently,
Waiting for time to be done.
I freeze at night in the moonlight;
I scorch ‘neath the light of the sun.

My wounds are deep and their hateful;
I'm defaced by scars of your wars.
My resources misused and wasted,
You've lost what could have been yours.

My air is polluted and harmful.
My waters are thick with debris.
My soil is burned out and poisoned,
And it's you who've done this to me.

You wait for your savior's returning
To save you from bonds of sin.
I long so much more for his footsteps;
He'll make me new again.

Feeling sad from your haunting write. The earth is in desperate need of a saviour.
