Hats off to you my feathered friends,
You’ve sung to me for years.
And now it’s time I sing to you
This ode of simple cheer.

Your beauty balances nature
Your songs speak to God
Getting the approval
Of His benign nod.

I listen to your concerts
In my yard each day
From the trees and garden,
And paths along the way.

What privilege and pleasure—
Such friendly entity.
You are a true blessing
To all humanity.

A symbol of what’s right
In a world full of wrong.
The best to you my feathered friends;
