Ode To Iron Road, Falling In Love Poem by Sambanath Denis

Ode To Iron Road, Falling In Love

If love has come to us in the fragrance
Of today, we shall be its effusion.
As the green river flows below, our
Hands fingers convolute as we seize
What may be as lasting as incense vapours.
We leave behind conversation, the world.
We stand in between the dreams of iron.
We stand in between a world saying no.
Our love is forbade by the era 1880.
In the train carriage, we elope unseen
Into the comfort of oil lamps that dapple.
I share with you my past framed in my hand,
A picture that is the true persona.
Since I was nine, I had to hide in boys
Clothes. I told you my secret by falling
Water, somehow now we are here falling
In love. Behind the train walls I am shy.
For so long, I had only glanced from the
Shadows of my heart. Now, in the settled
Light, you are leaning over me as I sit.
In my heart a dream beats softly of you.
You mentioned before, I am beautiful?
I call you Mr James upon a whisper.
As you ask me to only call you James,
I feel your mouth press with understanding.
In an unlikely place, love blossoms.
