Odd Jobs And Beer Poem by Ted Sheridan

Odd Jobs And Beer

Rating: 5.0

She said she found his writing to be a bit like that of Bukowski
Then she took his member into her mouth and courageously swallowed
Bukowski would have been flattered by any of her many comparisons
As long as she didn't forget the blow job and the beer
Young male poets get older and their inebriation becomes curmudgeonly
Their best years are kept in a glass of bourbon served on the rocks
Their best writing was done in the very early morning hours before dawn
Assisted by a well trained whore and the hyperboles about her Johns
To become a good writer is one thing even a drunken bard can do
But to become a good whore it takes a more critical eye to the world
Because life in general is easier to describe while in a drunken stupor
But so very much harder to swallow without the ironies and the humor.....
