Ocean Breeze Poem by Tom Squires

Ocean Breeze

As we ride beside this ocean
Sing to stars up in the sky
Leave behind all the commotion
Breathe to life these dreams tonight
And when we sail upon her waters
Breezes blow through open door
She takes her time with her sweet nothings
As we twist down to the floor
And tell me once again
My name my darling
So near me in this pleasant jail
If I were to keep on running
Those empty miles would soon prevail
I can see those postcards softly smiling
Sunset watercolor blue
As I contemplate the silence
Your face so sweetly comes in view
And if I saw this view from heaven
Would it be there painted true
As I hold you close beside me
This a picture just for you
While you stand there waiting near me
Moonlight shining through your hair
I feel those breezes begin to lift us
Way up on the midnight stair
We drove back home before the daylight
As you slept away your cares
And I felt you softly breathing
Close beside me in the evening air
And how much does it cost for simple silence?
Beauty measured spoken dream
So my wish for you my darling
Your golden light on silver screen
