O Nido (The Nest)
Todo mundo passava.
Ninguém o viu.
Tiraram fotos das flores
crescendo na árvore
mas ninguém o viu.
Estava ao meu alcance.
Eu podia tocá-lo.
Eu podia arrancá-lo.
Mas queria deixá-lo.
Era a casinha
de algum passarinho
do tamanho de um beija-flor.
Ele não mexe com a minha casa.
Eu não mexo com a sua.
English Translation:
The Nest
Everybody passed by.
Nobody saw it.
They took pictures of the flowers
growing in the tree
but nobody saw it.
It was within my reach.
I could touch it.
I could rip it out
but I wanted to leave it.
It was the tiny house
of some little bird
the size of a hummingbird.
He doesn't mess with my house.
I don't mess with his.
Written the same day the picture was taken,18 April 2015.
Forgotten until I saw a poem by Spock the Vegan called 'The Dove Outside My Window'. Had to look through three of my notebooks until I found where I had written it. Posted on PH 24 May 2015.
