O' Death Poem by Amitava Sur

O' Death

Rating: 4.8

Melancholy made it's nest
Permanently inside me
My known world changed out-and-out
Since the moment I lost thee.

The silence and frigidity of death
Has engulfed my senses and me.
Darkness is all around
Abysmally I do live.

Torn, tired and exhausted I am
Nothing else can console me.
Forlorn with the broken heart
Endlessly with a bleeding spree! !

Desperately, still searching around
Not knowing where you live.
Mortal life if ends once
Does never return again.

O' death, I welcome you
To embrace me and make an end
Praying you, please rescue me
From this clutch of unending pain.

This is not a welcome thought for any man.... Death is not an answer to any problem...! Facing life even when life appears bleak is real manliness. So try to muster courage and learn to live in joy! However from your deep sense of despair and grief, a beautiful poem has evolved! No wonder Shelley sang.... Our sweetwest songs are those that tell of saddest thought'! !

Heart touching in its sadness. Written so well. This curse of darkness envelops us all in one way or other but it's visit is short lived. The poem certainly have expressed hight of a despondent emotion.

An abysmal sadness penetrating your poem, leading you into the darkness of a suicidal wish, wanting to embrace and bring an end to life, thereby rescuing you from the excruciating pain and sorrow you are feeling. Your pain flows from your poem into my heart, Amitava. It is such a tender, grieving, touching your soul and yet you still remain so gentle in nature. You express this sensitive side of yourself so perfectly within your words, Amitava. The are almost a blessing of your soul in their rendering. I love this poem, it deserves a 10. Thank you, RoseAnn

Mirza Ghalib says: = Kahoon kisse main ke keya hay, shabe gham buri bala hay Mujhe keya bura tha marna agar ek bar hota. The fear of death kills us many times, but if we get rid of this fear, we shall die only once.

Beautiful poem Sir...You have poured your heart into it. I too feel the same way very often, like pendulum it keeps on swinging from one end to other. Just got fed up of all this life. But I should not comment anything negative. It a heart touching poem filled with sadness. But one has to try to come out of it. Though it is very easy to tell, but no other choice is left also.....
