Number Of The Beast Poem by Imelda Ortega Suzara

Number Of The Beast

Chapter Thirteen, Bible Revelation
Of the Beast triggered my hexaphobia,
Discovering my name in elation
And fear, matched it! To feel xenophobia
As if evil within me would erupt,
Controlled by forces waiting to destroy
Humankind! Gaining power to disrupt
Politics, an Asian Helen of Troy,
Revenge against all enemies, our foes
Could be quickly defeated. My power
Dominates over men causing their woes.
Slaves to build a modern Babel Tower,
They will obey all my whims and conceit,
My sweet tongue full of demonic deceit.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: On All Souls Day, I realized my name has six letters each, as Imelda 6 Ortega 6 Suzara 6! I thought it creepy enough to write this sonnet. Although demons may have been created to protect their creators from enemies, some use angels the same way in a battle over power and control.
