Nowhere Poem by Chris Leermakers

Nowhere

You know what they say
'you can't buy love with money'
well love without pay
is pretty damn funny
say - materialistic child
your attitude needs a rest
with money, you are quite wild
can you pass any real test?

What's money to us anyway?
plain old paper
The paper, plastic, numbers,
many various things
that turn us into anything
oh no, we have our morals
scruples, obligations for a start
oh no, the little florals.

Hey, I do not want to part
so, I'm a pittle plastic
well, I never said I wasn't
but money will
never run my life
or turn me into
some kind of spastic
who's suffering the tick
yeah, I'm a little crazy
today, the modern age
maybe a little hazy
tomorrow comes the rage.

In France, are they are at peace?
the glorious city of love
does love pay the bills?
I think I'll give it a shove
what are you talking about?
oh love.........

Well hey, don't get me wrong
I think I'll sing this song
then maybe I'll forget
the singing of this set
If real love comes along
grab it for the eternal song
don't let money get In the way
or you'll have nowhere to stay….
