Now No Winds Blow. Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Now No Winds Blow.

Now no winds blow. Throughout
the night only the drear
hovered around me.
Not enough to render me
sleepless.

Iron screw that to bronze
turned.
Wood that in the moon-light walked
a meter.

River that blows with scents and
flowers.
Eau de perfume, child of the Rhine.
