Nothing But Frost Poem by Martine Kolber

Nothing But Frost

Did you chose that way alone
Or did they make you do
Did you chose this way for you
Or did they break your bones
To make you join the club
Of coolness beyond compare
To where the lights are spare
As in red light corner pubs
Filled by masculine strong smells
Did you see the fear in her eyes
As you climbed on her in disguise
From far away the sad sound of bells
Bells bringing the news of another lost
Child that will not come home today
That was lost on the well known way
Leaving behind her life nothing but frost
