Not Too Serious A Poem

Quickest way to a man’s heart
Through his belly
Quickest way to a women’s soul
Her ears

The worst way to die suddenly
If luck is not on my side
With soiled underwear
My fears

The worst birthday to have
Friday the 13th…
Jason my friend
Don’t advertise your name
When we head out to the movie
OCT THE 13TH
All fears

Oh my lord
Did I spill salt?
I’m jinxed unless
I toss a pinch to the left and the right
Over my shoulder
Mate Cheers!

And for heavens; sake
Avoid walking under a ladder
Even if I have the urge
To empty my drunken bladder
Belly beers

I dropped my make-up mirror?
Oh no! Seven years bad luck
Can’t help my luck there
I’m roast

Don’t throw her off the train
Just step over a crack
My mother in law
Break her back
I am toast

If a black cat
Crosses my path
I’ll have bad luck
My whipping post

When a dog howls
Death is near
My dear
So unfair

A bird that comes
In my window
Brings bad luck
From pillar to post

Keep the umbrella in the car
Unless I intend to invite bad luck
Open it by mistake
Inside my house
This might be
My last post

If I shiver
Someone is casting
A shadow over my grave
I can boast

My fate is written
In the stars
End of my poem
Holy Ghost!

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
