Not Man

Souls found in Christ will grow to live
God's love will guide them through
Seeing each need He longs to give
What man can’t give to you

God’s Spirit guides His church on earth
Yet not from books we read
But through God’s Word! Through second birth
Through Christ God's Lamb and Seed

When life it seems brings nought but rain
When God turns grey the sky
No man can make it blue again
Nor raise the sun on high

No man can soften hearts of stone
Raise souls to understand
Such deeds come forth by God alone
Through Jesus’ mighty hand

Where Jesus’ Ghost may have His way
Where man takes second place
No sheep of God would ever stray
No child would fall from grace

The future would be more than bright
If eyes were not on man
But on God’s Son life's guiding Light
Upon Salvation’s plan

Yet for a while the proud walk tall
The foolish man seems wise
But void of Christ they'll surely fall
Before the Judge's eyes

Where man obeys the risen Lord
No child of God will fail
But in Christ's hand a mighty sword
We’ll empty Satan’s jail.
