Not Easy Poem by Janice Walkden

Its not easy
sometimes its hard
to write a verse
for a birthday card
poems don't always
come thick and fast
rhyming words
aren’t always that vast
but sometimes I have days
where my rhyming won’t stop
and every sentence
becomes a rhyming whop
so I can sit here typing
for quite a long time
lots of poems
which are mainly rhyme
so if you get bored
of my rhyming patter
I’ll not take offence
I’ll pretend it doesn’t matter
I’ll carry on with my rhyming
until I can rhyme no more
or my typing stops
because my fingers are sore!
